To assess a patient's lymphocyte function by stimulating with PHA which preferentially stimulates T helper cells via the IL2 recepter
Specimen requirement
0.5mls lithium heparin Plus a healthy control sample
Dispatch and handling instructions
Samples should be less than 24 hours old. High risk (HIV, Hep B, C) patients cannot be tested
