Clinical indications
T Cell Types:
1. Gamma delta T cells: may be raised in infection, autoimmunity, PID and may fail to express CD4 or CD8
2. Double negative T cells Increased numbers of CD3 positive, CD4 and CD8 negative T cells are seen in the peripheral circulation in patients with ALPS, but are also found in other inflammatory and immune dysregulated states. This is a screening test for ALPS

Samples should be less than 24 hours old and arrive before 2pm on a Friday. A full blood count MUST be taken the same day to allow enumeration and full evaluation of lymphocytes
