Clinical indications
Routine B cell marker is CD19. Patients may fail rituximab (anti-CD20 antibody) treatment if they fail to express CD20. Lack of CD19 (but presence of CD20) is a cause of CVID

0.5 mls EDTA
Dispatch and handling instructions
Samples should be less than 24 hours old and arrive before 2pm on a Friday. A full blood count MUST be taken the same day to allow enumeration and full evaluation of lymphocytes
