Clinical indications

Asparaginase enzyme activity is measured and monitored to ensure patients with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) receive optimum therapeutic benefit from asparaginase treatment

Specimen requirement

5 mL whole blood EDTA. MUST be accompanied with appropriate request form correctly completed

Dispatch and handling instructions

Send whole blood at ambient room temperature to reach the lab ideally within 24 hours of collection
