INFORMATION & CONTACT DETAILS
Your child has been seen in the Rheumatology Department at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and ongoing care will be shared between the Paediatric team at your local hospital and us.
The majority of care should take place in your local hospital wherever possible and many of your questions and concerns can be addressed with the team there, or by your GP. You should contact them first with any questions or worries you have, and they will then contact us if needed. We are always here to support the local team to give the best care to your child.
However, there may of course be situations when you need to speed to someone specific here at GOSH and this document outlines the contact details of the different members of our team and aims to answer some of the questions we are frequently asked.
MyGOSH
When you attend your first appointment at GOSH, you will be informed about our online portal called My GOSH. If you choose to sign up to My GOSH this will allow you access to clinic letters, results of investigations, view upcoming appointments, reschedule certain appointments and also to message your care team directly for non-urgent matters.
This is the easiest and preferred method of contacting us with your non-urgent queries.
Routine blood tests results are available on MyGOSH 48-72 hours following the test. Before the results are released, all blood test results are checked. Sometimes results are slightly outside the normal range and you should not be worried about this. If we are at all concerned about any of the results a member of the team will contact you.
General queries
Please contact your local hospital or GP in the first instance.
However, if you do need to contact us with a general query this can be done via MyGOSH. If you are not signed up to MyGOSH please use the following e-mail: gos-tr.rheumatology-gosh@nhs.net
Please note that this should NOT be used for urgent medical queries and that electronic messaging is not secure and so should not contain any sensitive information. Please just give your child’s full name and their hospital number as well as a preferred telephone contact number in case we need to contact you via phone. We aim to respond within 2 working days, but this is not an urgent response/emergency clinical service.
Medical Team
If you have a specific question for one of our Doctors, again in the first instance your query should be made via MyGOSH. If this is not possible, they can be contacted via our Medical Secretaries during office hours only on 020 7405 9200 ext 7887.
