What is the NTPEN?
The NTPEN is a clinical network of paediatric neurologists, paediatricians and other health professionals who have a responsibility for providing comprehensive care for children and young people with epilepsy in the North Thames region.
What is the aim of the NTPEN?
To achieve easily accessible, high standard epilepsy services for children and young people with minimal variation in service provision across our region.
How does the NTPEN achieve its aims?
By providing a forum for discussion and collaborative work across different levels of service provision and particular focus on:
- Development of clinical guidelines (implementation of national guidelines), care pathways, and resources to be used in clinical practice
- Shared standards for service provision and outcome measures, audit
- Training/CPD (quarterly Epilepsy Interest Group [EIG] Meetings)
