Neurosurgical Observership
The Neurosurgical Department offers medical observerships aiming to provide an educational opportunity to shadow neurosurgeons and observe clinical practice at Great Ormond Street Hospital.Who can apply?
To undertake a period of medical observership applicants must be:
• Individuals who are 18 years of age or older
• Medical individuals including students who wish to pursue a career in paediatric neurosurgery
• Individuals who have been invited to observe clinical work within the Trust

Young Visitors’ Programme
The Young Visitors’ Programme is a new initiative to offer short placements in the different clinical and non-clinical areas of GOSH to students considering medical, nursing and or paediatric careers to give a taster of the work we do. This programme is suitable for Year 12 and 13 students (i.e. 16 and 17 year olds post GCSE) The programme offers 3 to 5 day placements in the department of your choice depending upon availability of places and supervising staff.
