The Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT) department at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) is a tertiary referral centre for children with complicated ear, nose and throat problems or complex medical histories. How to refer a patient
For an outpatient appointment
As a tertiary care hospital, all children who attend Great Ormond Street Hospital must be referred via local hospital consultants, community paediatricians or ear, nose and throat consultants.

The referrals are usually from other ear, nose and throat units around London, other parts of the UK and abroad.
Services and facilities available
The Ear, Nose and Throat Department has expertise in the following:
paediatric airway endoscopy
laryngeal reconstruction
complicated ear reconstruction
osseo-integrated techniques (bone-anchored hearing aids and prostheses for congenital ear atresia)
cochlear implantation
paediatric head and neck pathology
correction of choanal atresia
other congenital abnormalities
The ear, nose and throat patients are managed on Peter Pan Ward, which provides care at the high dependency unit level for these patients.
The ear, nose and throat ward is managed by a ward sister and her team of highly experienced staff nurses.
The department has a dedicated tracheostomy nurse specialist who provides advice and support to tracheostomised children and their families, as well as an ear, nose and throat nurse specialist.
The department has an outpatient clinic and theatre session every working day.
