Mildred Creak Unit clinical outcomes
Clinical outcomes are broadly agreed, measurable changes in health or quality of life that result from our care. Constant review of our clinical outcomes establishes standards against which to continuously improve all aspects of our practice.
As part of our routine outcome monitoring on the Mildred Creak Unit, we ask that all young people and their families to fill out some questionnaires (outcome measures). Below are some of our recorded outcome measures from October 2014 to June 2016 (Only patients for whom baseline and end of treatment data were available are included in the following graphs):
Children’s Global Assessment Scale (C-GAS):
This is a clinician-rated measure of general functioning. A numerical scale of 1-100 is used. Higher scores indicate better overall functioning of the young person. The data below represents the average C-GAS rating at admission (baseline) and discharge (end of treatment).

Goal Based Outcomes (GBOs)
On admission to the Mildred Creak Unit we ask young people and their parents/carers to set three goals each which they would like to achieve through the course of their treatment. A scale of 1-10 is used. On admission and discharge, we ask the young people and their parents/carers to rate how close they think they are to reaching that goal. Higher scores indicate greater progress towards the goal being achieved. The data below represent the average scores for the three goals at baseline and end of treatment.
