About the Dental and Maxillofacial Surgery department
In March 2023 there have been some changes to the dental services at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Click here for an update on our dental services.
The department provides a comprehensive maxillofacial and dental service to children under the care of Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) who, because of their medical history, are unable to access this care elsewhere. We have specialists in maxillofacial surgery, orthodontics and paediatric dentistry.
We see over 5,000 patients each year as outpatients within the department. The inpatient workload is just under 300 episodes.
We also have an in-house dental laboratory service which supports the department.
There are close links with the North Thames regional cleft lip and palate service, nationally designated craniofacial team, Beckwith Wiedmann team and the epidermolysis bullosa multidisciplinary teams.
