Daily Mail Health Heroes Awards
20 Jun 2013, 3:14 p.m.
Mr David Albert, GOSH ear, nose and throat surgeon, featured in the Daily Mail after being shortlisted for a national Daily Mail Health Heroes Award.
In March 2013, the Daily Mail launched their first Health Hero Awards with the Prime Minister, David Cameron, revealing his own Health Heroes.
The organisers wanted to highlight the positive stories: the unsung heroes who work tirelessly for their patients or those who go the extra mile. The paper received hundreds of nominations from the general public about deserving staff from the healthcare sector who have made a difference to their or their loved ones’ lives.
Mr David Albert was nominated by GOSH parent Cheryl Towse.
On the day of the awards, the nominees were invited to Downing Street where they met Prime Minister David Cameron. The gala dinner saw the award of Health Hero being given to GP Ronan Moran.
