Jessica Gowing

Jessica Gowing is Senior dispensing optician and started working at GOSH in 2014

Her job is to advise, measure, supply and fit glasses to ensure the best possible fit and visual outcome for our patients. Jess is very passionate about dispensing well fitting glasses for children that take into account their unique, developing facial features that both the parent/carer and the child will love!

Specialisms

Jess has a specialist interest in fitting glasses for patients with conditions affecting head and face where a standard pair of glasses do not provide an adequate fit. This sometimes requires the use of 3D printing to create a perfectly fitting pair of spectacles.

Qualifications

After graduating from Cardiff University with a first class honours in Biology, Jess completed a diploma in Ophthalmic dispensing at City and Islington College.

Jess frequently carries out teaching sessions and workshops on paediatric dispensing for other ophthalmic professionals.
