Hugo Wellesley
Dr Hugo Wellesley is a specialist paediatric anaesthetist and came to Great Ormond Street Hospital as a consultant from Bristol in 2011.Dr Wellesley’s practice includes all aspects of general paediatric anaesthesia.
Specialisms
Dr Wellesley has special interests in anaesthesia for orthopaedics, interventional radiology, endoscopy and neurosurgery.
He also teaches regularly on Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) courses.

Research Interests
Dr Wellesley is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the UCL Institute of Child Health. His academic interests are primarily Patient Safety and Clinical Ethics – he is a member of the GOSH Clinical Ethics Committee, he has published a number of articles and he gives lectures on the subject.
