Dr Munaza Ahmed

Consultant in Clinical Genetics
Munaza has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of hereditary cancer syndromes in both adults and children. She has been a Consultant Clinical Geneticist since 2011 and currently leads the GOSH Clinical Genetics service.
Munaza’s undergraduate training was at UCL where she completed an intercalated BSc in Human Genetics. Following this she undertook training in Oncology at University College London Hospital, specialist training in Clinical Genetics at the Manchester Centre for Genomic Medicine, and Cancer Genetics training at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Centre, New York. In 2016 she gained a postgraduate qualification in Genomic Medicine. She obtained her MD (Res) degree from the Institute of Cancer Research (University of London). Her thesis was on hereditary predisposition to breast cancer.

Research interests: Li Fraumeni syndrome, breast cancer predisposition genes, causes of childhood cancers.
