Alexander Chesover

Alex is a consultant in paediatric endocrinology and metabolic bone disorders, working both at GOSH and the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital. He qualified in medicine from University College London Medical School (2009), completed paediatric specialty training in the UK, and then a three-year fellowship in Paediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes at The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto (2020).
Alex has clinical interests in metabolic bone disorders, calcium and phosphate disorders, fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva, denosumab treatment for RANKL-mediated disorders, Duchenne muscular dystrophy, and the care of young people in healthcare transition.
Alex is the department’s lead for risk management and manages the department’s local and regional education programmes. He has a passion for education and training, and completed a Masters in Medical Education (2017).
During his endocrine training, Alex learnt to ice skate - it’s never too late to try something new!

Alex is involved in clinical research with a focus on better understanding rare disease, improving patient outcomes, and innovative treatment.
