Dhanya Mullassery

Ms Dhanya Mullassery is a Consultant Neonatal and Paediatric Surgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and Honorary Consultant Paediatric Surgeon at Royal Free Hospital NHS Trust.

In addition Ms Mullassery is currently an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London, Royal College of Surgeons Co-tutor at Great Ormond Street Hospital. She joined Great Ormond Street Hospital as a Consultant Paediatric Surgeon in 2018.

Specialisms

Ms Mullassery has a special interest in upper gastrointestinal surgery, thoracic surgery and oncosurgery in neonates and children. She is also one of the Royal College Surgical tutors and has a keen interest in surgical education and training.

Qualifications

Ms Mullassery trained in specialist paediatric surgery rotating through Alder Hey Children’s Hospital (Liverpool), Addenbrooke’s Hospital (Cambridge), Great Ormond Street Hospital and St George’s Hospital.

Research Interests

Ms Mullassery completed a PhD from the University of Liverpool investigating cell signalling pathways in the childhood tumour, neuroblastoma. She continues to maintain a strong interest in surgical research and has contributed to over 50 articles published in peer reviewed journals and textbooks. Her current areas of research interest include neonatal surgery, oncology and thoracic surgery, and she continues to collaborate with other experts in related fields at national and international conferences.
