Support

The International Medical Fellowship Programme is managed by the GOSH Learning Academy’s dedicated International Education Team who are committed to maximising the International Fellow’s time at GOSH.

From the first communication received, our team will build a relationship with International Fellows, answering all questions and queries received. International Fellows are supported by the team to help with all elements of their application, from preparing to submit the GMC application, to applying for the visa.

International Fellows will also gain access to a wealth of resources prior to their fellowship starting which are accessible online via GOSH’s virtual learning environment, GOSH GOLD. International Fellows will also be enrolled onto a two-day induction specially designed for and exclusively available to international doctors to help them settle into GOSH and the wider NHS (National Health Service). Additionally, International Fellows will attend Trust Induction courses to provide essential training at the start of their fellowship to practice safely.

Throughout their time at GOSH, International Fellows will meet with the International Education Team on a regular basis and the team will be on hand to assist with any queries throughout their fellowship. International Fellows will also be assigned a dedicated specialty educational supervisor who will work with the International Fellow to create a bespoke educational plan for the duration of their fellowship. The International Fellow’s supervisor will also provide mentorship, guidance, learning opportunities and review their progress throughout.

International Fellows are a fully involved and active member of the clinical team and will see and manage patients under the guidance of senior staff. They will have every opportunity to take advantage of learning opportunities, including GOSH’s formal teaching, lectures, Grand Rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, ward rounds and clinics.
