It is our pleasure to announce the 3rd Great Ormond Street Hospital Conference, taking place on Friday 22nd November 2019, at the Wellcome Collection.

Join us to hear from professionals, patients, families and paediatric community leaders about the innovative work that continually takes place across the Trust.

The theme for this year’s conference is Caring for the Complex Child, with a focus on ‘Research and Innovation’, ‘Education and Lifelong Learning’ and 'Leadership and Service Transformation'. The GOSH Conference is an opportunity to hear inspiring stories and examples of pioneering research aimed to help children with complex health needs fulfil their potential.

Call for Abstracts

ABSTRACT DEADLINE EXTENDED!

We welcome submissions for oral and poster presentations in line with the three sub-themes of this year’s conference, ‘Research and Innovation’, ‘Education and Lifelong Learning’ and ‘Leadership and Service Transformation’.

Abstracts must be submitted online and there is a strict 300-word limit. Abstracts will be peer-reviewed and acceptance will be based on content, available space, and overall program balance. The submission deadline is 4th August 2019 (23:59 pm BST). Incomplete or late submissions will not be accepted. All submissions must be made through the online submission form.

Abstracts will be published in a special edition of the Archives of Disease in Childhood. Prizes will be awarded for best poster and best oral presentation.

Poster Presentation – Authors of accepted abstracts who will attend the meeting are expected to present a poster (if not selected to give an oral presentation). 

Oral Presentation – A number of authors will be invited (on the basis of abstract topic and quality of submissions) to speak about their projects. Authors who are selected will not be expected to present a poster.

A special Christmas at home for ‘Queen of Robin Ward’ Isla

Five-year-old Isla is looking forward to spending Christmas at home with her family after being admitted to the Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Unit (Robin Ward) for over a year and half. This was the longest amount of time a patient has spent on this ward.
