Honorary Contracts

At GOSH we welcome applications for Honorary Contracts and have a dedicated team to assist with any queries you may have.

Observer Placement

A person wishing to observe Trust activities.

An observer will not be involved in the provision of clinical care. Observers can only attend for a period between 15 days - 3 months. They need to be under supervision all the time.

Please note Observers do not have access to any systems.

Clinical Observers will be issued ID badges and are to attend Weston House Reception office hours Monday to Friday for photographing and the issuing of an ID/Access Badge. They will need to bring an photo ID document with them.

Working Placement

An unpaid contract of engagement between an organisation and an individual. This is where a service is being provided to the Trust.

Please note: All honorary contracts in this category can only be issued for up to a maximum of 12 months initially.

Please note, it will be the individual’s responsibility to find a working placement, HR are not able to help with this.

Research Placement

This type of contract relates to honorary contract holders performing clinical research activities at the Trust that are not covered by either a Research Passport or Letter of Access. For research placements, where there will be no clinical activities as part of a registered research study.

Educational Placement

A placement, agreed in conjunction with an education provider, where a student is placed within a department as part of a course of study.

Visitor Placement

Visitor is a person wishing to observe Trust activities for no more than 14 days. Please note visitors do not have access to any systems and are not issued ID badges. There will also be no clinical activities for a visitors placement.
