An all-day paediatric nephrology-specific healthcare training simulation course – aimed at improving overall safety in multidisciplinary paediatric nephrology care.

Course overview

This course is led by leading experts in paediatric nephrology, simulation and comprises of a wide multidisciplinary team of consultants, ACPs, nursing and AHPs.

This is a comprehensive and interactive 1-day programme covering key common and rare renal emergencies in paediatric nephrology. With much improved nephrology care over the last decade and high functioning machine alarm systems, renal emergencies in paediatric patients are overall rare, but they do happen. Learning using simulation technology has shown to improve health care professionals’ confidence and knowledge base in dealing with these emergencies with overall improvement in patient safety and higher quality in care delivery. Learners will be exposed to the innovative use of simulation for education and have a safe space to improve their skills in dealing with renal emergencies in a variety of situations.

The programme provides a blend of theoretical basis and practical simulation sessions, along with incorporation of human factors awareness.
