Tendon
A tendon joins muscle to bone or muscle to muscle. They very strong and flexible and are made up of lots of fibres joined together.
Thorax
The medical word for your chest.
Tonsils
You have tonsils on either side of your throat at the back of your mouth. They’re part of the immune system. When you’re a child, they can become inflamed which is called tonsillitis.
Topical
If you have to apply a cream or ointment topically, that means you apply it to the surface of the skin that’s affected.
Trachea
The medical word for your windpipe.
Tumour
A growth of some kind. These days, it usually refers to a lump of cells that are growing in an uncontrolled way.
Twins
When two babies are born together, they’re twins. You can be an identical twin, which means the twins developed from the same egg, or non-identical twins which means that two eggs were fertilised at the same time.
