Business development
On this page you can find out about how GOSH supports translational research for innovation.
The NIHR Great Ormond Street Hospital Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) creates the landscape for translational research. In health and life sciences, translational research is where concepts and findings from emerging research projects are translated into medicines, therapies and products with the aim of improving health benefits and outcomes.
Translational research is also part of initiatives that introduce innovation into the healthcare setting. It can change the way we do things, for example clinical pathways to achieve better outcomes. These initiatives involve complex networks of stakeholders including patients and clinicians, researchers, and specialist advisors in intellectual property, medical regulation and finance. As the only NIHR BRC that solely focusses on paediatric research, GOSH provides a unique environment for supporting innovation in paediatric care.
Our vision
