About the Clinical Genetics department
The Clinical Genetics service at Great Ormond Street Hospital covers a population of 4.5 million in North and East London and Essex. We see individuals of all ages, not just children.
About our Services
Our multidisciplinary team of doctors, genetic counsellors and clinical scientists provide support to children and adults affected by or at risk of genetic disorders. Check out our videos below to learn more.
Our services include:
- diagnosis of genetic disorders in adults and children
- risk assessment and genetic counselling for patients with a family history of an inherited disorder or a family cancer syndrome
- predictive genetic testing including prenatal diagnosis for some genetic disorders
We are also part of other specialist services provided by Great Ormond Street Hospital and other hospitals, including our supra-regional Craniofacial unit, the Inherited White Matter Disorders specialist service, the Retinoblastoma specialist service, the East of England regional cleft service, and the Dual Sensory clinic.
