Abraham Cherian

Abraham Cherian - Urology
I have been at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) since 2008 as a Consultant Paediatric Urologist and have thoroughly enjoyed looking after children and their families. It is indeed a privilege and honour placed in our hands.

My undergraduate training and Masters in General Surgery was in India. I then worked in Yemen for two years as a general surgeon with the Baptist Mission.

I moved to the UK and pursued specialty training in Paediatric Surgery at Leeds General Infirmary and Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham eventually making a commitment to paediatric urology. This culminated in further training and experience as a Fellow in Paediatric Urology at Nottingham, St.Thomas and Guy’s Hospital and finally at Great Ormond Street Hospital.

I currently also hold an Honorary post as Consultant Paediatric Urologist at University College London Hospital and am a Senior Lecturer at the UCL Institute of Child Health.

I am the Surgical Tutor and the Programme Director for training in Urology at GOSH.
